Harvest

From our retreat on the walkway in Harvard Square, Harvest has been defining (and redefining) the contemporary American table for decades. A steady Harvard Square presence for almost 50 years, Harvest embodies the ever-evolving spirit of Cambridge. Our seasonal menus marry the innovation of contemporary cooking with a timeless respect for American culinary traditions and an emphasis on local farmers and purveyors. Our spacious bar, fireside dining, and hidden gem of a patio each offer a welcome reprieve from the fast-paced world happening just outside our doors.

About Chef Nick Deutmeyer

Nick Deutmeyer grew up on a dairy farm in Dyersville, Iowa. After spending time experiencing and researching cuisine in Rome, Italy, and rural Austria, he attended culinary school at New England Culinary Institute in Vermont. He then moved further south in New England, landing at Harvest in Cambridge. After four years as the restaurant's lead line cook then sous chef, a period during which he was given the opportunity to showcase his craft at the James Beard House in New York City, Deutmeyer was brought to a new Boston restaurant, Post 390, as part of the opening team. He quickly made his way up the ranks and was named executive chef in May 2016. In the fall of 2020, he returned to his former stopping ground, taking over as executive chef at Harvest, where his relationships with the region's top farmers and his passion for local ingredients help him uphold the restaurant's impeccable reputation.
