Palacio de las Dueñas

Palacio de las Dueñas is an example of the characteristic noble architecture of Seville. This palace boasts over 1,400 artistic pieces and reveals what was the place of residence of the famous Spanish writer Antonio Machado during the early years of his life. The Palace is property of the House of Alba, a family with property comprising extensive artistic collections and patronage in Spain. In the 20th Century Las Dueñas has been meeting point for members of the European royal families and international personalities of the culture, politics and art. Distinguished people such as the Empress Eugenia de Montijo, Lord Holland, Eduardo VIII and his bother Jorge VI, Alfonso XIII, Jacqueline Kennedy, Wallis Simpson, Grace Kelly and her husband Rainiero de Mónaco, among others.
