Stellenbosch Wine Routes

Stellenbosch, a town famous for history, culture, beauty and of course fine wine, dates to 1679 when it got its name from the then governor of the Cape, Simon van der Stel. In 1971 Stellenbosch became the first wine region in South Africa to establish a wine route as an organised network of wineries – offering an actual route for visitors to do which offers tastes of the area, but also an insight into the soul of the region's winelands. Imagine going on a wine tour, visiting as many wine farms as you like, all in close proximity, but with each one unique in terms of wine style and character.
