Founder Makeba Guilan Lloyd is a Harlem-born New Yorker who was inspired to learn about the art of perfumery after an educational trip through Egypt. Makeba earned a certificate in Natural Perfumery and Aromatherapy from the New York Open center and New York Institute of Aromatherapy, and also honed her perfumery skills at Pratt Institute under world renowned perfumer, Raymond Matts.
