The Joffrey Ballet was founded in 1956 by Robert Joffrey and Gerald Arpino as they identified a need to push the boundaries of dance and create a uniquely American form. Based in Chicago, The Joffrey continues to build upon the vision of its founders to present dance that reflects and engages broad audiences.
