Whereas many of his Spanish-language contemporaries undertook English-language crossover campaigns, Colombian singer/songwriter/guitarist Juanes earned global appeal exclusively in his native tongue. After his debut album, Fijate Bien (2000), won him a Latin Grammy Award for Best New Artist, Juanes broke through with his second album, Un Día Normal (2002), which notched six hit singles and five Grammys. When he returned with Mi Sangre (2004), Juanes enjoyed even more commercial success and critical acclaim. By the time he returned with La Vida…Es un Ratico (2007), he had a truly international presence, continuing his career with 2010's P.A.R.C.E. and 2014's Loco De Amor. Juanes conceived his latest album, Mis Planes Son Amarte, with Colombians Sky & Mosty and Bull Nene, along with an accompanying film produced with director Kacho Lopez. The album debuted at number one on the Top Latin Albums charts and has been nominated for a Latin Grammy for Best Latin Pop Album.
