Villa Winternitz was designed and built by Adolf Loos and Karel Lhota in 1932 for the Prague-based lawyer Josef Winternitz and his family. The building displays typical elements of Adolf Loos's architecture, especially the unusual layout of the interior space, carefully conceived built-in furniture and meticulously chosen cladding materials in the interior. The Winternitz family lived in the villa only until 1941. The descendants of the original owners got the house back in 1997 and decided to restore it to its 1930s appearance. Since 2017, the villa has been open to the public and can be visited as part of guided tours or cultural programs.
