If music is meant for your ears, then why do so many of us carry it around in our hands? Imagine being able to walk around with tons of songs at your disposal and absolutely nothing in your pockets...
Once upon a time, having music with you at all times meant carrying a boom box. It also meant shoulder cramps. Walkmans were an improvement, but there was the problem of toting around all those tapes and CDs. IPods gave us a small device packed with songs — other companies gave us smaller players – but there was still the matter of tangled headphone wires.
What are your hands to do now that they have no gadget to carry?
Finally, a new wave of MP3 headphones has set mankind free from burdensome wires once and for all. TDK now sells the Mojo 1, a lightweight neckband MP3 player that doubles as a radio and can hold over an hour of downloaded music. It also has a memory card slot for unlimited memory expansion. Meanwhile, ThinkCP has a similar model that holds up to 240 songs and plays 400 minutes of uninterrupted music, while Aiwa's model can fold up small enough to fit in a pocketbook when it’s not being used.
Suddenly, all those people with players in their palms or pockets look awfully, well, encumbered. But what are your poor hands to do now that they have no gadget to carry? Maybe they can start organizing all those piles of old CD....
